Congratulations to Phyliss Jackson-Polk of New Orleans, LA; she is the winner of the HGTV Urban Oasis® 2023 sweepstakes, a grand prize package valued at over $850,000!

“I never thought this would happen to me," Phyliss said. "I thought it was a prank until I saw Brian at my door. Tears started rolling down my face because it was just so surreal that this was actually happening to me.”

Phyliss, who lives in New Orleans with her partner Clark, has been entering HGTV Home Giveaways for years. "I entered two times every day," Phyliss said. "I believed it would never happen, but I would still click in and think 'there’s always a chance.'" And she was right! Her name was randomly drawn from over 73 million entries to the sweepstakes.

We couldn't think of a more deserving person to win this charming Louisville home. Phyliss is a deaconess at her local church and heavily involved in her community, sending inspirational email affirmations to over a hundred people each day. "My aunt Phyliss has always been a pillar of strength for our family," said her nephew, Lloyd. "She’s the one you go to if you need someone to talk to."

When asked which room in her new home she's most excited about, Phyllis said, "The rooftop deck, so I can sit and drink coffee outside." She also loves the yellow front door, comparing it to “sunshine.”

Her nephew Lloyd and his wife Tash helped arrange the big surprise, telling Phyliss they were in her neighborhood and wanted to drop by for a visit.
